Mrs. Stacey Mattish always wanted to be a teacher from the time she was a little girl, so she was thrilled in 1995, when she was asked to join Calvary’s staff as a language teacher. After that first year, she knew for sure that teaching was the ministry God was calling her to. She currently teaches English, government/economics, and choir. She also coaches the girls’ volleyball team and directs the Christmas program as well as the Spring Concert.

Her goal as a teacher is to be able to stand before the Lord someday and hear Him say, “Well done!” One of her spiritual goals for her students is to see them always live for the Lord no matter what the circumstances of life. One of her main academic goals as an English teacher is that her students do exceptionally well in college-level English.

Her favorite aspect of Christian education is having the opportunity to work closely with students in class and through mentoring opportunities such as the weekly girls’ Bible study. It is her desire to equip each student spiritually and academically to live successfully as Christians. Her life verse is Matthew 6:19-21 which challenges Christians to focus on eternal goals and rewards rather than on earthly ones.
